Asheville-Area Americana Artist ‘Just Rick’ To Perform At Hendersonville’s Appalachian Coffee Company
March 5, 2020 - Just Rick will be ringing in the springtime with a performance at Hendersonville’s beloved Appalachian Coffee Company on Friday April 10th and later again on May 22nd. The performance follows the release of Ricks upcoming single “2$Bill”; a unique, upbeat cover of the famous bluegrass hit “Two Dollar Bill”. Appalachian Coffee does its part to care for people, creation and community. They support local art and by doing so, help to strengthen the Asheville music community as a whole, while drinking organic fair-trade coffee nonetheless. Just Rick is one Asheville-area artist that Appalachian Coffee has supported wholeheartedly. Rick continues to entertain audiences at wineries, pubs and breweries, but he always comes back to play for the Appalachian Coffee audience for the high quality environment that it provides. “What I like about performing at Appalachian Coffee is the staff and the acoustics. Both are great! The staff is appreciative, and the sound is great for performing” says Rick.
Just Rick’s newest single, uniquely titled “2$Bill” has been covered by some of the biggest bluegrass artists, including Bill Monroe, Lester Flatts, and Earl Scruggs. Also known as “Long Journey Home” and “Lost All My Money”, the song is undoubtedly a classic. Rick presents his own take on the classic hit with modern day drum patterns and mandolin. The track follows his original blues, country, and rock-inspired hits “I’ve Never Been A Cowboy”, “Groundhog Blues”, “Hillbilly Baby” and most recently “She Went Ridin’”. Rick plans to establish himself in the Asheville area and beyond by building a catalog of originals and select covers. His journey includes performing at the various unique venues the Asheville area has to offer. His start in music began early on, playing drums in his high school band “Green Steam”. His talents carried over to the bands “Full House” and “The Old Men”, later leading him to form “Identity Crisis” with close friends in Sheboygan Falls, WI. "Identity Crisis" evolved into a long run with the successful trio 'IC3', where he played festival stages across the midwest.
