DECEMBER 3rd, 2020 - Hailing from Atlanta, Hip Hop artist Bella Blaq is ready to introduce her melodic flow into rap’s mainstream. Today, Bella shares her new single “Hands On Me”, the first of a string of singles to be released in the coming months.
Produced by EPIKH PRO (multi-platinum credits include Bryson Tiller, Cardi B, and Eminem), “Hands On Me” is Bella’s no-holds-barred response to the trials and tribulations she has experienced first hand as a black woman in the entertainment industry. Bella’s voice is her instrument as her flow seamlessly intertwines with the pulsating trap beat behind her. With lyrics like: “We don’t do no complication | Only money moves baby wait and see”, Bella radiates a quiet confidence along with mesmerizing cadence.
More than just a talented lyricist, Bella incorporates her own distinct creative direction to bring to life the concept behind “Hands On Me”. The edgy accompanying artwork finds the rapper looking vulnerable, yet fierce as hands cover her naked body. A deliberate statement for an artist who does music on her own terms despite the obstacles of dealing with sexism and racism.
Sharing the sentiment behind the track, Bella says: “Life is crazy, we all got battles we fighting daily. You can’t let it stop you though.”
About Bella Blaq:
Bella Blaq (aka Shekira Snipes) was born in Blakely, Georgia along with her two younger sisters. Her love of music, particularly hip-hop, started becoming apparent at the age of 14, when Bella, along with some of her peers, would perform freestyle concerts in the school yard and in the family home. Bella’s music features a modern twist on old school hip-hop sentiment - channeling a roster of legends including Missy Elliot, Aaliyah, and Lauryn Hill. In between honing her sound in the studio, Bella has also opened for the likes of 2 Chainz, Future, and Young Dro. With a body of work due out on the horizon, including collaborations with multi-platinum producer Epikh Pro, Bella Blaq is set on taking the music game to a whole different level.
